Last Friday, for the first time that I am aware, I tasted a white wine made with the Torrontés grape. Amusingly, this wine came out of a box (a small, one liter box which I bought to commemorate the occasion). This grape was the 100th grape variety that I consciously recall tasting (there are likely more than I am unaware of) and enough to gain membership into the exclusive Wine Century Club.

I’ve been actively pursuing membership into the club for over a year and a half and even wrote about it for the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail’s blog last year. This is definitely an exciting achievement for me, one which coincides (roughly) with the completion of my 3rd decade and a recent adjustment of my own life goals. Perhaps it’s time for a glass of champagne tonight!
