It’s been reported that 1,000,000 people are expected to see the Turin Shroud when it’s on public display beginning in April for it’s 6-week viewing period. This is the same shroud that’s been reported on multiple times, and said to be a fake time and time again.

That said, it’s still a pretty old “relic” that people have been looking at and protecting for hundreds of years, so yeah - I’d probably take a look at it if I was in the neighborhood. But it does pop out as an interesting parallel… it’s something many people admit is not really what the church says it is, but they want to see it anyway, just like the circus attractions of yesteryear!
