So yeah … appeasement didn’t work, but when it came down to it, Chamberlain still declared war on Germany. In hindsight, it was too late in this situation, but negotiating with one’s foes isn’t always bad. Negotiation and communication appeasement! Kennedy didn’t go invading during the Cuban missile crisis. Even Carter and Reagan negotiated with Iran of all countried to free the hostages! Republicans are masters of language: they’ve made ‘Liberal’ a bad word and now equate negotiation with appeasement. Give me a break.
