OK this is just getting ridiculous now. The teabaggers, birthers, anti-healthers, etc, are taking their mistrust way too far. A speech like this (not political) is a good thing to make children more aware of the system itself. An aware public can only be a good thing, which is exactly what Beck, Limbaugh, and all the others claim to be saying. The policy of simply tuning out anything one doesn’t understand or necessarily agree with is bad any way you look at it.
I didn’t agree with W, but I think him going to schools to encourage kids to be more involved was good. (As long as he left at the appropriate time.) And just the fact that I didn’t agree with him made me watch him and listen to him even more closely because I didn’t trust that the guy wasn’t going to take our country to Hell (or Iraq) in a handbasket.
